Week 8

Learning about my mother, and myself, through 2017's most intimate ...

I absolutely loved My Lesbian Experience With Loneliness. I read it at the library, back when we still had access to it.
I really related to the way that the author spoke about depression and hopelessness. This one line really touched me, "It felt good to fall apart". Sometimes when you're so far down the rabbit hole of mental illness, you find comfort in the emotions you feel constantly. Happiness becomes foreign.

But let's not just focus on the mental illness aspect of it.
MLEWL really did a good job at portraying the main character's struggle with their sexual identity, and how their parents may react negatively towards it. Granted having a whole story about enlisting a escort in a love hotel may be one of the more brash ways to tell the world that you're a lesbian but hey life isn't perfect.

I liked the loose drawings in the story and how everything felt dainty and loose, I don't see enough of that in anime or manga.

In relation to Kinglsey's post, I do feel like the loose art style helps the audience relate more to the main character. Plus doesn't everyone kind of have overbearing parents?
